Job summary

ABC Fitness in the United States is hiring a Senior Data Architect to define and lead our data architecture strategy and roadmap. You will drive the shift from batch processing to real-time capabilities, partnering with executives, product, and engineering to align data decisions with business outcomes.

You will mentor a global team of senior data architects and shape governance, security, and quality standards while pushing AI-enabled improvements across data platforms and analytics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related discipline, including experience leading senior technical professionals.
• Experience moving data platforms from batch processing toward real-time or near-real-time architectures.
• Deep experience with modern cloud data platforms and lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with AWS, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog is highly valued.
• Strong foundations in data modeling, data warehousing, data governance, and distributed data systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python sufficient to review designs and engage credibly with engineers.
• Practical experience using AI in your own work, along with sound judgment about where AI creates meaningful value.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to make technical strategy clear to executive leaders and design decisions clear to engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product and engineering partners without relying solely on formal authority.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in fitness, wellness, SaaS, payments, or subscription-based business is a plus.
• Experience building customer-facing analytics or reporting products.
• Experience with Databricks SQL, Power BI, or comparable analytics platforms.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

• Build alignment across teams and influence decisions beyond your direct reporting relationships.

ABC’s data architecture strategy is clear, credible, and supported by executive leadership. The first real-time capabilities are live, with a practical roadmap for continued transformation. Data and Reporting teams work against shared architecture, quality, governance, and design standards. AI is embedded into the team’s everyday approach to building and improving data capabilities. Product and engineering leaders involve the architecture team early in strategic decisions. Your team is highly capable, well-developed, and trusted across the organization.

Compensation

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations. The anticipated compensation range for this position is - $173,000 - 198,000 USD- annually. In addition to base compensation, eligible employees may be offered other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable. Compensation and benefits may vary by location and are subject to applicable legal, business, and market requirements.
