Job summary

Winnsboro ISD in Winnsboro, Texas is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator of ELAR, History and Spanish to direct the district’s curriculum and instruction department. You will ensure development and delivery of the curriculum aligns with district goals and supports student achievement.

The role requires a Texas teaching certificate, a bachelor’s degree, and 3 years of classroom teaching experience, with preference for 2 years in the subject areas. This is a full-time position at the district office.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for a subject assigned
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
• Knowledge of State and Federal laws, State Department of Education Rules and Regulations
• Ability to manage budget and personnel
• Ability to implement policy and procedures
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Experience: 3 years experience as a classroom teacher
• 2 years teaching experience in subject area assigned (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs that incorporate district goals and support student achievement.
• Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district’s goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs.
• Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs on an ongoing basis using input from teachers and principals, applied research, and student data to determine effectiveness and improve outcomes.
• Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of education goals are available.
• Collaborate with curriculum specialists, principals, teachers, and other instructional staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on a systematic review and analysis.
• Engage instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional tools and materials to meet student learning needs.
• Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and campus performance objectives (academic excellence indicators).
• Oversee staff development programs and provide effective activities that support instructional programs, incorporate input from teachers and principals, and are consistent with the district’s mission.
• Participate in the implementation of the designated teacher appraisal system.
