Job summary

Ledgebrook Insurance, LLC is seeking a Director of Credit & Collateral Risk to independently approve, monitor, and secure counterparty exposure across reinsurers, captives, MGAs, and banks. You will lead collateral sizing, watch-list governance, and credit risk dashboards, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer in a remote US setting.

The role requires 10+ years in risk, strong knowledge of letters of credit and reinsurance trusts, and the ability to enforce concentration limits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in credit risk, reinsurance security, or counterparty risk at an insurer, reinsurer, rating agency, or financial institution.
• Actuarial or accounting background required.
• Hands-on experience with letters of credit and reinsurance trusts.
• Strong analysis of financial statements across insurers and non-insurers.
• Knowledge of statutory credit for reinsurance and RBC charges.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Third-Party Credit Risk Policy for the Chief Risk Officer, including counterparty standards and concentration limits.
• Perform independent due diligence and credit approval for reinsurers, captives, MGAs, TPAs, banks, premium finance companies, and surplus lines brokers.
• Verify collateral directly with issuing banks and trustees, not solely counterparty-supplied documents.
• Size and monitor collateral, issuing top-up demands when needed.
• Monitor credit quality of LOIs and ensure credits come from eligible institutions.
• Enforce hard concentration limits across reinsurer groups and banks.
