Job summary

Iris Energy is seeking a strategic Director, Cost Management to safeguard financial health and capital efficiency across its data center portfolio. You will own end-to-end governance—from initial estimation through to vendor billing control and change order management across West Texas and Oklahoma campuses and beyond.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in a relevant field; master’s degree and/or industry certifications preferred
• 12+ years of progressive financial and commercial management experience in mission-critical facilities or large-scale data center programs
• Expertise in cost engineering, risk analysis, earned value management (EVM) and capital forecasting
• Experience negotiating complex vendor contracts and managing multi-million-dollar billing pipelines
• Proven ability to lead distributed, cross-regional teams and interact with executive leadership

Responsibilities

• Budget and cost control across data center initiatives with precise financial forecasting
• Develop standardized project estimation frameworks from concept through closeout
• Perform quantitative cost risk analyses including Monte Carlo simulations
• Oversee vendor billing cycles and ensure alignment with contracts and budgets
• Lead change order review processes to mitigate scope creep and control costs
• Define enterprise-wide cost management standards and governance frameworks
• Build, mentor, and scale a multi-regional cost management team
• Partner on capex phasing, cash flow forecasting and earned value reporting
• Support procurement strategy and terms for long-lead equipment
• Maintain unit-cost benchmarks such as cost per MW and cost per kW
