Responsibilities

  • Lead acquisition sourcing and evaluation aligned with growth objectives.
  • Develop relationships with business owners, bankers, PE groups, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Build and manage pipeline across electrical/industrial distribution and related sectors.
  • Conduct market research and strategic assessments of opportunities.
  • Perform financial modeling, valuation, and investment recommendations.
  • Coordinate due diligence across finance, operations, legal, HR, and commercial teams.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Director of Corporate Development to lead acquisition sourcing, transaction execution, and strategic growth initiatives. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to identify opportunities, evaluate businesses, manage due diligence, and support acquisitions from initial outreach through successful integration.

The ideal candidate will have experience within Corporate Development, M&A, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or a related strategic growth function and possess a strong understanding of middle-market transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, sourcing, and evaluation of acquisition opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, investment bankers, private equity groups, brokers, and industry stakeholders
  • Build and manage a pipeline of acquisition targets across electrical distribution, industrial distribution, construction services, and related sectors
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and strategic assessments of potential opportunities
  • Perform financial analysis, valuation assessments, and investment recommendations
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts across finance, operations, legal, HR, and commercial teams
  • Support the negotiation of Letters of Intent (LOIs), purchase agreements, and transaction structures
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and expansion opportunities
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, legal counsel, investment bankers, and consultants
  • Support post-acquisition integration efforts to maximize value creation and ensure successful transitions
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging market opportunities
  • Prepare presentations and recommendations for executive leadership

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Strategy, or a related field
  • Proven track record of sourcing, evaluating, and executing acquisitions or strategic transactions
  • Experience within distribution, industrials, construction services, building products, manufacturing, or similar sectors preferred
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing due diligence and transaction execution processes
  • Ability to build relationships with business owners and senior executives
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of growth strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar credentials are a plus
