Job summary

Deep South Today is seeking a Director of Content Strategy to partner with the Executive Editor & Chief Content Officer on the network’s editorial roadmap, culture, and growth strategy. The role leads Deep South Today Studios, events strategy, and multi-newsroom collaboration programs, with direct management of the Studios Director and responsibility for budget and standards.

The position is senior editorial leadership, requiring a track record in journalism, video production, and audience

Qualifications

7+ years of journalism or media experience with senior editorial leadership.
Experience overseeing video/multimedia production teams or initiatives.
Experience building editorially-driven live events.
Strong fluency in digital audience strategy (social, newsletters).
Track record of cross-newsroom collaboration and buy-in across teams.

Responsibilities

Partner with Executive Editor to shape editorial roadmap and culture.
Lead DST Studios, events strategy, and cross-newsroom collaboration programs.
Set editorial and operating direction for Studios and manage budget and staffing.
Define success metrics for events and report progress to leadership.
Coordinate major cross-newsroom coverage moments and build repeatable processes.
