Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Research Program Director to oversee administrative, operational and business aspects of research projects within a department or division in New York. You will collaborate with P.I.s, Community Partners, and Community Scientists to review grants, manage budgets and staffing, and ensure patient eligibility and care delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Masters strongly preferred in sciences or related field.
• 7 years' hospital/medical environment experience.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in community-engaged research and bidirectionality preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clinical nursing competence.
• Experience in management and financial management.
• Ability to motivate, develop and coach individuals.
• Ability to build partnerships with community organizations and underserved populations.
• Experience in translating research for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of health equity and community health disparities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team, community partners, and academic groups for program development and planning.
• Establishes goals for ongoing projects; evaluates through health equity lens.
• Drives grant preparation, IRB paperwork, financial activity and contracts.
• Facilitates timely communication and proactive decision making.
• Arranges resources to support projects as needed.
• Develops and implements quality improvement activities.
• Identifies and responds to risk management issues.
• Manages human resources including recruitment, hiring, evaluation and retention; oversees Community Scientist Training and Mentorship.
• Develops systems to support efficient clinical operations.
• Implements plain-language dissemination of findings to partners; shares results in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties.
