Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools in Bloomington, MN seeks a Director of Community Education to provide strategic and operational leadership for lifelong learning programs, school-age care, aquatics, and community services, ensuring accessibility and sustainability.

The Director will oversee budgeting, partnerships, and compliance with laws, collaborate with district leadership to expand opportunities, and lead marketing and outreach to strengthen community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, administration, business, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minnesota Director of Community Education license, PreK-Adult, or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Community Education programs, including school-age care, youth and adult enrichment.
• Develop and manage annual operating budgets, monitoring revenues and expenditures for sustainability.
• Lead staff development, supervision, and the departmental organizational structure.
• Foster community partnerships and coordinate with regional districts to expand opportunities.
• Oversee facilities use policies, governance, and required reporting to ensure accountability.
• Align Community Education with district priorities and equity goals, driving continuous improvement.
