Job summary

Center for Internet Security, Inc. seeks a Director of Cloud Team to lead cloud engineering strategy, architecture, and product development across multiple CSPs.

You will partner with product owners and engineering leaders to shape a long-term cloud roadmap aligned with CIS goals and security standards. You will mentor the Cloud Solutions team, scale organizations as needed, and ensure secure, reliable cloud products with strong governance and automation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 8+ years of cloud engineering, cloud architecture, or cloud product development experience.
• 4+ years leading technical teams, including managers or architect-level contributors.
• Demonstrated expertise in multiple CSP environments and Shared Responsibility Model.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, secure cloud-based products.
• Proficiency with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins).
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term cloud engineering strategy across CIS cloud products and services.
• Establish architectural direction, technology standards, and engineering frameworks for multi-cloud delivery.
• Lead capacity planning, resource strategy, and team structure to support growth.
• Partner with Product to drive the multi-year cloud roadmap and modernization initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and mentor Cloud Solutions team to foster a high-performance culture.
• Build and scale multiple cloud engineering teams to support product complexity and multi-cloud growth.
• Align SBP, Hardened Images, and other teams for integrated delivery and best practices.
• Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based products across major CSPs.
• Direct development and modernization of CIS Hardened Images and cloud security capabilities.
• Ensure architectural decisions emphasize security, resiliency, sustainability, and operations.
• Champion automation, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), orchestration, and DevSecOps.
• Establish KPIs, engineering metrics, and SLAs for reliability and security.
• Oversee monthly cloud product maintenance, updates, and marketplace publishing.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and privacy standards.
