Antioch is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead core engineering for its GPU-accelerated simulation platform. You will shape the technical direction, grow the team, and contribute code across infrastructure, backend, and data systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering, with leadership experience at fast-growing companies.
• Hands-on experience building and running GPU-accelerated systems in the cloud.
• Strong background in MLOps and distributed systems (Kubernetes, Ray/Slurm, data pipelines).
• Good judgment on performance and cost at scale, including GPU utilization and multi-cloud spend.
• Active coding with Python; Rust/C++/Go skills a plus.
• Track record of hiring and developing engineers and improving processes.
• Fluent use of coding agents and DevOps tooling to accelerate work.
• Clear communication with customers, executives, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead core engineering across infrastructure, backend, frontend, and developer experience.
• Design and scale the GPU cloud platform with scheduling, orchestration, data pipelines, and storage.
• Build infrastructure for large workloads: distributed job execution, dataset/versioning, reproducible pipelines.
• Own cost optimization, reliability, scalability, on-call procedures, and incident response.
• Hire and grow engineers who own systems end-to-end.
• Define engineering processes: code review, architecture decisions, releases, security, and planning.
• Standardize use of coding agents to enhance engineering velocity.
• Collaborate with founders, ML, simulation, and GTM teams on roadmap and deployments.
