Job summary

Northwest Nazarene University invites applications for a Director of Clinical Training (DCT) for its APA-accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology program. The DCT will oversee practicum training, coordinate placements with external sites, and expand community partnerships to enhance student opportunities.

The role requires a doctoral degree in psychology and Idaho licensure or eligibility, plus experience supervising clinicians and managing training programs aligned with APA accreditation

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Current licensure as a psychologist in Idaho or eligibility.
• Experience supervising developing clinicians.
• Knowledge of doctoral-level clinical training and competency-based education.
• Ability to evaluate student development and readiness for independent practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee practicum training sequence and ensure progress in professional competencies.
• Coordinate practicum placements and maintain relationships with external sites and supervisors.
• Develop and expand community partnerships to increase practicum opportunities for PsyD students.
• Represent the PsyD program in the community and accreditation activities.
• Evaluate quality and appropriateness of practicum sites; address training concerns.
• Monitor student progress and readiness for advancement through training levels.
• Work with faculty to address clinical competence, professionalism, and readiness for practice.
• Maintain training policies, documentation, and records aligned with accreditation standards.
• Provide orientation and ongoing communication to students regarding practicum expectations and duties.
• Support internship readiness and APPIC application processes.
