Job summary

The University of Alabama invites applications for Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for its developing Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The DCE will lead the clinical education component, design and administer experiences, and collaborate with the Program Director, faculty, and clinical partners to ensure high-quality sites and instructor development.

Tenure-track, tenure, or clinical track appointments are possible, commensurate with qualifications.

Qualifications

• Licensed physical therapist in good standing in the U.S. and eligible for Alabama licensure.
• Minimum of five years as a physical therapist with clinical education experience.
• Knowledge of contemporary PT practice, clinical education, and student assessment.
• Experience teaching or supervising learners in professional education.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and evaluate clinical education experiences across the curriculum.
• Develop and maintain diverse network of clinical sites and qualified instructors.
• Coordinate student placement, orientation, supervision, assessment, and remediation.
• Maintain affiliation agreements and documentation for health, safety, licensure, and site requirements.
• Contribute to curriculum governance, scholarship, and service.
