United Nations Foundation seeks a Director of Adaptation & Resilience to lead the organization’s climate adaptation strategy in collaboration with its Climate & Environment leadership. You will advance policy priorities, cultivate partnerships, and guide fundraising to support resilience initiatives.

The role involves engagement with international forums, strategic communications, and high-level stakeholder outreach to drive meaningful outcomes for UNF’s adaptation agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in climate policy, political science, economics, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in climate policy, adaptation, resilience, or closely related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of climate change, adaptation, and resilience policy.
• Experience cultivating strategic partnerships with governments, international organizations, or philanthropic institutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of UNF’s adaptation and resilience strategy in collaboration with senior Climate & Environment leadership.
• Shape UNF’s engagement across international forums (UNFCCC, UNGA, World Bank, G20).
• Provide strategic direction for Adaptation Campaign Hub and related communications and advocacy initiatives.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support adaptation initiatives.
• Represent UNF in international and domestic meetings and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
