Job summary

Thomas Young Group is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to lead the land development practice in Northeast or Central Florida. You will guide a multidisciplinary team through project delivery, client development, and proposal support while driving growth across private and public sectors.

The role calls for a senior engineer with a track record in staff leadership, project ownership, and a deep understanding of the Florida market. A Florida PE license is required or must be obtainable.

Qualifications

• At least fifteen years of civil engineering experience.
• Background in land development or public infrastructure.
• PE licence required; Florida licensure to be obtained if not held.
• Knowledge of the Florida market preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, project managers, and technicians.
• Oversee land development and public infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Support proposals and presentations for new work.
• Collaborate with internal teams in transportation, water, CEI, and planning.

About the company:

This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Director of Civil Engineering to lead and grow its land development team in Northeast or Central Florida. The role includes team management, project delivery, and client development across both private and public sector work.

What you'll be doing:

• Overseeing land development and public infrastructure projects from start to finish

• Supporting proposals and presentations for new work

What we're looking for:

• At least fifteen years of civil engineering experience
• Background in land development or public infrastructure
• Experience leading staff and managing projects
• Ability to win new work and grow client relationships
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• PE licence required and must be able to obtain a Florida PE if not already held
• Knowledge of the Florida market preferred
