Job description

Take on a key leadership role with an established consulting firm supporting impactful development initiatives across a rapidly growing market. In this role, the Civil Development Project Manager leads complex development initiatives from early planning through final delivery, directing engineering and design teams while acting as the primary liaison with municipalities and project stakeholders. If you thrive on transforming raw acreage into thriving communities—and want the flexibility of a hybrid schedule—this opportunity puts you at the center of growth, innovation, and career momentum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end civil site design for greenfield and infill developments, coordinating zoning research, conceptual layouts, grading plans, utility routing, and erosion & sediment control measures.
  • Shepherd submissions through county and state permitting processes, serving as primary liaison with planning boards, water-management districts, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical oversight for stormwater modeling, drainage reports, and water-quality compliance, ensuring adherence to FEMA, EPA, and local standards.
  • Mentor a multidiscipline design team, allocating workload, monitoring utilization goals, and coaching junior staff toward professional licensure.
  • Work alongside external consultants to integrate key site insights and technical input into overall project planning.
  • Support business development by scoping proposals, preparing fee estimates, and nurturing client relationships that generate repeat engagements and referrals.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the project life cycle.
Desired Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Relevant experience contributing to development-related projects within a professional engineering or consulting setting.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software such as ICPR or HydroCAD; BIM experience a plus.
  • Proven success leading project teams and managing client accounts.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical documents and project-related materials.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and municipal meetings throughout Central Florida; valid driver’s license in good standing.
What You Will Gain
  • Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and comprehensive health benefits from day one.
  • 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, and generous PTO policy.
  • Flexible work structure combining time in the office with opportunities to work remotely.
  • Clear advancement pathways supported by paid training, professional memberships, and mentoring from industry thought leaders.
