Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside, Miami Beach seeks a Director of Catering to lead the Commercial Team. The role drives catering sales and service revenue for corporate and group business with a focus on exceptional event execution and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, plus a proven track record in hospitality operations and event planning.

• Five years’ experience leading a team in a comparable role.
• Strong selling and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communications from catering and conference services managers and staff for external customers and internal teams.
• Actively prospect and solicit, develop and maintain catering accounts through personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment; supervise banquet events.
• Finalize the requirements of Four Seasons internal events as well as personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective communication across departments.
• Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on program or event completion.
• Manage challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and inform leadership for prompt corrective action.

About the role:

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is seeking a Director of Catering to join our dynamic Commercial Team.

Candidates with a passion for excellence, expertise in event planning and hospitality operations with proven leadership experience are invited to apply for a career with Four Seasons. This position will be responsible for a catering sales and servicing revenue goal to secure and service Catering and Group Business.

We are looking for an individual with a creative passion for event sales and planning. Who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The Director of Catering is responsible for generating revenue through new business development and the servicing of corporate group business. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills and able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of our clients and operation, and can evidence having a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service.

What you will do:

• - Maintain and monitor the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from catering and conference services managers and support staff for our external customers as well as internal team.
• - Actively prospect and solicit, develop and maintain catering accounts through personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment. Supervise the execution of banquet events.
• - Finalize the requirements of Four Seasons internal events as well as personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event.
• - Ensuring accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event.
• - Managing challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and finding solutions, keeping Director of Marketing and Planning Committee fully informed on all unusual matters so that prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
