Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking an Associate Dean of Student Services at Malcolm X College. This role leads the Student Services Department, guiding student engagement, retention, and success initiatives while supervising staff and coordinating resources across advising, registration, and related services.

Reporting to the VP of Student Affairs, the incumbent will implement policies, manage budgets, and contribute to the college’s strategic enrollment plans, equity goals, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Student Services, Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• Three years of administrative experience in student services administration, preferably at a community college.
• Experience mentoring and developing staff with strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Experience managing large budgets and resources.
• Evidence of developing programs to support student enrollment, retention, and success.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, service excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dean in managing the Student Services Department and setting performance goals.
• Supervise staff across Advising, Registration, Testing Services, Orientation, and other units.
• Develop policies and programs that support student success and respond to campus needs.
• Support budget planning, grant proposals, and fiscal oversight.
• Oversee program assessments, reporting, and compliance with regulations.
• Participate in committees to advance access and success.
