Job Summary and Qualifications

This role reports directly to the Division AVP of Cardiovascular Operations, with a matrixed reporting line to the hospital’s COO or CNO. The dual reporting supports strategic oversight division-wide and operational support at the facility level.

The Director oversees 24-hour operations, supervision, and performance of the Cardiovascular staff in departments including Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Echo Lab, Cardiac Pre/Post Procedure, and Cardiac Rehab.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Demonstrate and uphold St. David’s Healthcare I-CARE values daily, promoting a healthy culture.
  2. Ensure productivity guidelines and patient acuity are met to maintain quality care.
  3. Review and approve employee payroll accurately and timely.
  4. Ensure proper orientation and ongoing education for staff, verifying certifications and competencies.
  5. Hold staff meetings, maintain education records, and conduct hiring and evaluations.
  6. Manage staff recognition, counseling, and termination processes ethically and confidentially.
  7. Coordinate patient care activities, respond to concerns, and handle emergencies like codes and disasters.
  8. Maintain patient privacy, rights, and regulatory compliance.
  9. Participate in committees, ensure documentation accuracy, and maintain safety standards.
  10. Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor key metrics, and collaborate with quality departments.
  11. Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently.
  12. Coordinate equipment, supplies, and vendor compliance, including contracts and device introductions.
  13. Lead strategic projects to expand services, improve workflows, and drive innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular setting and 1 year in management.
  • Current license and certification as a RN, RCIS, or RT(R).
  • BLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Located north of Austin, Texas, St. David’s Georgetown Hospital features over 100 beds, a Level IV trauma center, stroke and chest pain certifications, and comprehensive emergency and outpatient services.
