Job Summary and Qualifications

This role reports directly to the Division AVP of Cardiovascular Operations and matrixes to the facility’s COO or CNO. It supports division-level strategic oversight and day-to-day operations at St. David’s Healthcare.

The Director oversees 24-hour activities and performance in the Cardiovascular departments, including Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Echo Lab, Cardiac Pre/Post Procedure, and Cardiac Rehab. Responsibilities include:

  1. Demonstrate and uphold St. David’s Healthcare I-CARE values, fostering a positive culture.
  2. Ensure productivity and patient acuity guidelines are met to provide quality care.
  3. Review and approve payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  4. Ensure staff receive appropriate orientation and ongoing education, maintaining certifications.
  5. Hold quarterly staff meetings, document minutes, and maintain educational records.
  6. Hire qualified staff, verify credentials, and complete employment documentation.
  7. Conduct timely employee evaluations, provide counseling, and recognize performance.
  8. Handle employee terminations professionally and confidentially when necessary.
  9. Support departmental operations, patient care, and problem-solving.
  10. Respond to code situations and emergencies promptly, directing staff as needed.
  11. Coordinate patient care assignments, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality and rights adherence.
  13. Complete and review documentation and reports accurately and timely.
  14. Participate in hospital committees, contributing to safety and quality initiatives.
  15. Ensure departmental policies are current, compliant, and followed.
  16. Stay current with regulatory requirements, translating them into practice.
  17. Lead quality improvement efforts, monitor metrics, and collaborate with QA/QI teams.
  18. Manage budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently.
  19. Plan for equipment, supply needs, and capital projects.
  20. Develop strategies to meet financial and operational goals.
  21. Coordinate with supply chain and vendor compliance efforts.
  22. Lead initiatives to expand services, improve workflows, and implement innovations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required.
  • Master’s in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Management preferred.
  • At least 2 years of cardiovascular experience required.
  • At least 1 year of management experience required or equivalent education/experience.
  • Current license and certification as per requirements, including RN, RCIS, or RT(R).
  • BLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is a comprehensive facility with over 100 beds, Level IV trauma, Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center. Services include emergency care, surgery, maternity, rehab, and more.
