Job summary

HF Sinclair Corporation in Dallas, TX seeks a Director of Planning and Investment to lead the development and readiness of capital projects over $10MM. You will drive gates from FEL-0 to FEL-1, align investments with long-range strategy, and lead an Investment Planning and Development team with sites, capital projects, and senior leadership.

A strong background in chemical engineering and front-end loading is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and major capital projects through front-end loading and investment decision stages.
• Strong knowledge of front-end project development, process engineering, and capital governance.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, cost management, safety, and regulatory compliance skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and readiness of capital projects from pre-FEL-0 through FEL-1 per HF Sinclair process.
• Ensure projects entering funding gates have clear scope, sound economics, operability, safety, and energy efficiency.
• Provide leadership to resources across corporate, site, and contractor groups to deliver high-quality front-end work.
• Align project objectives with long-range strategy, including margin, capacity, regulatory compliance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Lead cross-functional decision-making and resolve technical and business trade-offs.
• Facilitate early stakeholder engagement throughout project development.
• Partner with Refinery Managers, Commercial Managers, and senior leadership to develop strategic plans.
• Develop and manage team portfolio, provide technical support, and supervise senior engineers.
