Job Title: Director of Business Development

Location: Remote (U.S.) preference for NYC and ATL

TLDR: This is an individual contributor role hunting new ISV partnerships with an established payments provider expanding their offering into embedded payments. We're looking for BD people with deep ISV and merchant pricing experience to join a fast moving team carving out a space in the ISV market

Storm2 has partnered with a high-growth payments technology company that is transforming the way businesses integrate and scale their payments infrastructure. With a proprietary platform designed for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) this company is expanding their offering into the ISV space with this being a key hire in that process to drive new revenue and accelerate market penetration.

They are now seeking a Director of Business Development to identify, recruit, and sign new ISV partners, leveraging self-sourcing, networking, trade shows, and inbound leads. This is a high-impact role for a strategic business developer who excels in building relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving growth through innovative go-to-market strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new ISV partnerships to expand the company’s reach.
  • Own the full sales cycle - pipeline management, partner negotiations, and onboarding.
  • Develop and execute a structured GTM strategy to drive new merchant activations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and product teams to refine partner-led sales motions.
  • Negotiate partner agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial growth and long-term success.
  • Deliver compelling value propositions that highlight the platform’s competitive edge beyond pricing.
  • Provide detailed performance reporting on sales metrics, pipeline development, and conversion rates.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in fintech, payments, or software sales with a strong track record in partner development.
  • Proven success in identifying, signing, and growing strategic ISV partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of payments ecosystems, including integrated payments and software-led payment solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to structure and close high-value agreements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a consultative sales approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strategic yet hands-on mindset.
