Job summary

DrFirst is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive new growth around patient engagement offerings, selling digital media programs to pharmaceutical manufacturers and media agencies. You will engage stakeholders, build strategic accounts, and collaborate with leadership to execute growth strategies.

You will work with cross-functional teams to expand relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for new solutions, while traveling up to 40% to meet clients and close

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • 5–8 years of sales, business development or account management in healthcare technology.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing client relationships at multiple levels.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with compelling presentations.
  • CRM systems proficiency and sales forecasting tools.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders from operational to director level.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and develop new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.

Position Overview

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving new business growth around patient engagement offerings that leverage DrFirst's unique market position to deliver better outcomes. This role focuses on engaging patients in real-time with reliable, relevant, personalized, and actionable tools that educate, reduce costs, and facilitate participation. The Director will contribute to the emerging business unit by developing and selling digital media programs to pharmaceutical manufacturers and third-party media agencies. This individual will work closely with senior leadership on execution of strategy and collaborate with existing customers to maintain and grow relationships.

The Director will be responsible for identifying key stakeholders at target organizations and building productive relationships to drive revenue growth for the company.

  • Support broader Consumer Solutions team initiatives and coordinate with other DrFirst teams to present integrated solutions
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 5-8 years of sales, business development, or account management experience in healthcare technology (pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience managing and developing client relationships at multiple organizational levels
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (mobile, web, social media)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to deliver compelling presentations
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders from operational to director level

Preferred:

  • Experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers or media agencies
  • Knowledge of patient engagement and adherence solutions
  • Understanding of healthcare regulatory environment
  • Experience with consultative and solution-based selling methodologies
Physical Requirements
  • 40% Travel/Customer visits

  • Competitive compensation, with a base salary of $130,000 - $145,000 (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)
  • Eligible for Commission, depending on individual performance and sales results
