Job summary

The Director of Banquets at Cliff House Maine leads the Front of House banquet and event experiences, driving service excellence and strategic vision across departments. You will manage guests, oversee budgets, and mentor a high-performing team to deliver Forbes-level luxury events that reflect the property’s brand promise.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive banquet or event management experience.
• Experience owning departmental budgets, labor management, and financial reporting.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Polished presence and discretion expected in a luxury setting; Forbes standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own guest experience and service quality across all banquet functions from small to large events.
• Set service standards to meet Forbes-level expectations and industry trends.
• Collaborate with Sales, Event Planning, and Culinary leadership for flawless execution.
• Represent the banquet department in budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead and develop a high-performing banquet team; recruit, train, coach, and manage performance.
• Uphold brand voice and service delivery across banquet touchpoints.
• Be the main point of contact for guest concerns and proactively elevate the experience.
