Job summary

Western Alliance Bank in Chandler, AZ seeks an Association Banking Director of Operations to lead banking operation teams and ensure efficient workflow aligned with policies and risk controls.

You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of operations staff, set goals, coordinate product delivery, and foster strong client relationships to support profitability and deposit growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in Treasury Management Service, Branch Banking Operations or similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Strong leadership experience managing and developing large groups of employees.
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to connect effective development initiatives with business needs.
• Ability to effectively manage large staff, multiple projects with deadlines, and budget constraints.
• Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
• Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead banking operation teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of operations staff; plan, direct, or coordinate service delivery.
• Maintain risk controls; coordinate audits and action plans with internal/external auditors.
• Support fraud control procedures and mitigate bank and customer risk of monetary loss.
• Develop and reinforce user guides, procedures, and training; drive change initiatives.
• Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.
