Western Alliance Bank, a subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation, seeks an Associate Audit Director, Compliance Risk Management in Chandler, AZ. You will plan, oversee and report on audits, lead the risk assessment process, and manage a high-performing audit team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced experience and knowledge in your assigned internal audit area.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of internal control analysis and risk assessment methodologies, COSO framework, Institute of Internal Auditor standards, FRB Supervisory Letter 13-1 standards, GAAP, and/or Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302/404 regulatory requirements.
• Intermediate to advanced time management and organizational skills.
• Intermediate level knowledge of data analytic tools preferred.
• Advanced public speaking and written communication skills.
• Certification requirements: CIA, CPA, CRCM, CAMS, RMA, IIACSA/IRMA.
• Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee and report on audits in assigned areas.
• Assist in annual risk assessment and quarterly continuous monitoring.
• Lead audits and ensure timely wrap-up per audit plan.
• Evaluate processes and controls for adherence to policies and regulations.
• Interact with senior leadership to inform audit results and risk.
• Provide coaching and development for audit staff and collaborate with other teams.
• Draft and present audit reports for leadership approval.
• Attend monthly management meetings to monitor audit issues and progress.
• Oversee day-to-day activities with Audit Project Manager(s).
• Lead team hiring, coaching, and performance development.
