Job summary

Wiley University seeks a Director of Bands to lead its instrumental program, conduct ensembles, and oversee recruitment, retention, and student success within the band program. You will develop performance ensembles and provide high-quality instruction in coordination with Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Music or Music Education required.
• Proven ability to conduct and teach instrumental music classes and ensembles.
• Proven ability to recruit and develop students for a collegiate band program.

Responsibilities

• Direct and conduct instrumental performance groups during athletic events and university functions.
• Plan and organize performances on and off campus, including preparation of materials for public relations.
• Recruit students, manage auditions, and oversee retention and student success in the band program.
• Develop and manage a yearly budget for the band program in consultation with university leadership.
• Coordinate band fundraising events and outreach to promote the program in the community.
