Job summary

Arizona Christian University in Glendale seeks a Director of Bands to lead undergraduate instrumental ensembles and the ACU Marching Band. This full-time position includes teaching 24 credits per academic year and overseeing recruitment efforts worth 12 credits annually.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s in Music (Doctorate preferred) and demonstrate proven leadership and recruitment success to advance ACU’s mission.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music is required; a Doctorate is desirable.
• Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience in music is highly desirable.
• Instrumental conducting and recruitment experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct undergraduate instrumental ensembles and direct the ACU Marching Band.
• Develop syllabi, manage assessments, and maintain records for courses taught.
• Schedule performances, coordinate athletic events, recitals, chapel services, and concerts.
• Recruit prospective students and collaborate with high school directors to grow the program.
• Provide mentorship and spiritual support consistent with ACU's Christian mission.
