Job summary

GAF is hiring a Director of Automation and Control Systems to lead the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous improvement while supporting capital planning and manufacturing optimization. You will ensure operational support for production facilities and align initiatives across departments.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing with experience leading multi-site Automation & Controls projects, budgeting, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

Oversee Automation and Controls group and align with 3–5 year capital plans.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, R&D to integrate the team.
Manage financial responsibilities and budgeting for the group.
Lead project implementation from development to deployment.
Ensure safety standards and machine health.

Responsibilities

Effectively lead all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to manufacturing facilities’ capital plans (3–5 years).
Collaborate across IT, Process Services, Corporate Eng, R&D to integrate automation.
Manage budgets and financial reporting for the team.
Oversee deployment of automation software and projects.
Drive safety culture and machine health improvements.
