Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous innovation and align with capital planning. This role ensures support for production facilities and strategic project execution across locations.

Responsibilities include leading the team, managing budgets, integrating software, and maintaining documentation while promoting safety and a culture of learning and internal collaboration across IT, R&D and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven leadership ability, indirect or direct.
• Proven relationship building and partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite, diagnostics tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to the facilities' 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D.
• Manage all financial responsibilities: capitalized projects, budgets, reporting; implement automation software.
• Oversee engineering practices and documentation for controls projects.
• Provide leadership, promote customer service, and advance continuous education.
• Promote safety excellence and ensure standards are followed.
