Job summary

Freedom Village of Bradenton is seeking a Director of Assisted Living & Memory Care to lead our AL and Memory Care neighborhoods. This is a visible, hands-on leadership role focused on building strong teams, partnering with families, and delivering resident-centered care.

You will oversee operations, compliance, staffing, and quality of care, collaborating with nursing and clinical teams to ensure safety, dignity, and outstanding experiences for residents and families in a Florida CCRC

Responsibilities

Freedom Village of Bradenton, a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Assisted Living & Memory Care to lead our Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods.

What You’ll Do

As the Director of Assisted Living & Memory Care, you will provide overall leadership and operational oversight for our Assisted Living and Memory Care programs. You will be responsible for ensuring outstanding resident experiences while maintaining high standards for safety, staffing, regulatory compliance, employee performance, and quality of care.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Lead the daily operations of Assisted Living and Memory Care.
• Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the neighborhoods and build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and employees.
• Ensure resident care is individualized, compassionate, and consistent with each resident's needs, preferences, and service plan.
• Lead and develop a team of dedicated senior‑living professionals.
• Recruit, train, coach, recognize, and retain high‑performing employees.
• Establish clear expectations and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Partner with nursing and other clinical team members regarding changes in resident condition, care concerns, incidents, and resident needs.
• Oversee Memory Care services and promote person‑centered dementia care practices.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families and respond effectively to concerns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, licensing requirements, community policies, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely follow‑up on incidents, care concerns, and other required documentation.
• Monitor staffing, labor, supplies, and departmental expenses.
• Participate in leadership, quality improvement, survey preparation, and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Collaborate with Human Resources regarding employee relations, performance management, staffing, and employee development.
• Work closely with the Executive Director and other department leaders to support the overall success of the community.

We are looking for a leader who is present, approachable, organized, accountable, and genuinely passionate about senior living.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, senior living, healthcare, or a related setting.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing employees.
• Strong knowledge of senior‑living operations and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• The ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• A genuine commitment to resident dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Gerontology, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field
• Previous experience as an Assisted Living Director, Memory Care Director, Resident Care Director, Executive Director, or similar leadership position.
• Experience working in a CCRC, Life Plan Community, or other continuing‑care environment
• Experience leading Memory Care services and supporting residents living with dementia.
• Experience with regulatory surveys, compliance, quality assurance, and risk management.

Candidates must meet all applicable Florida licensing and regulatory requirements for the position.
