Job summary

YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director to oversee, supervise, and develop aquatic programs for preschoolers, youth, and adults. Under the Branch Executive, you will implement policies and manage day-to-day activities at the branch pool and facilities.

The role emphasizes program expansion, staff development, safety, and budget management to ensure high-quality aquatic services for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Health and Physical Education preferred.
• Two to three years aquatics experience, preferably at YMCA.
• Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Leadership experience in YMCA Aquatic Institutes and instructor training preferred.
• Budget development and administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand aquatics programs for all ages.
• Create long-range vision and strategies for the Aquatics Department.
• Recruit and supervise staff and volunteers within budget.
• Supervise aquatic staff per job descriptions.
• Organize registration for all aquatics programs.
• Plan schedules for all aquatics programming.
• Collaborate with community organizations for YMCA programs.
• Provide staff and volunteer training and CPR/First Aid.
