Job summary

You will set evaluation standards, manage inference costs, and partner with product, security, and legal. The role emphasizes hands-on coding, prototypes, and leadership to raise the technical bar.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building production machine learning systems with hands-on leadership.
• Track record hiring and developing senior ML engineers and data scientists.
• Hands-on today: shipping code, building prototypes, and reviewing work.
• Deep ML expertise including supervised learning, feature engineering, statistics, SQL, and production LLM/agentic systems.
• Experience with cost/capacity decisions for model serving and reporting results to executives.

Responsibilities

• Ship code alongside your team and review peers with rigorous standards.
• Own end-to-end delivery from problem framing to serving and on-call.
• Choose methods (ML, LLM, code) for diverse challenges with measurable impact.
• Define evaluation criteria and build regression gates and experiments.
• Own inference cost, latency, and capacity; inform build-vs-buy decisions.
• Hire and grow ML engineers and data scientists, developing senior staff into leaders.
