Job summary

FirstPRO, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Accounts Payable to lead and modernize our AP function across a growing multi-location organization.

You will build a high-performing team, implement scalable processes, and strengthen controls to support growth. In this leadership role, you will collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Operations to streamline workflows, drive automation, and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounts payable or finance experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading, managing, and developing teams.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or comparable platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily AP operations, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor inquiries, and account reconciliations.
• Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and metrics for the AP team.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures that promote consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time while resolving discrepancies and payment issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Serve as a key point of contact for AP-related matters and promote strong communication across departments.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide appropriate documentation and support.
