Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Director of Analytics to own the full analytics stack from data warehouse to BI reporting. You will lead a small team, set technical direction for the analytics stack, and partner with executives to provide data-driven decisions.

You will supervise data modeling, governance, security, and executive dashboards while hands-on reviewing models and tooling choices in a fast-paced remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years analytics experience including leadership roles
• Strong SQL proficiency with advanced techniques
• Experience running a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred)
• Hands-on with dbt or similar
• Track record evaluating/migrating BI tools and platforms
• Ability to translate data into business decisions for executives
• Excellent written and verbal communication in cross-functional settings
• Experience operating in a remote-first, distributed team

Responsibilities

• Own analytics architecture end-to-end from warehouse to BI layer
• Set BI tooling strategy and evaluate tools as data scales
• Lead and develop a team of analysts and analytics engineers
• Partner with product, success, and engineering to define metrics
• Establish data modeling standards, testing, and governance
• Manage data security and access controls across warehouse and BI
• Build executive-facing dashboards on core metrics
