Job summary

Jobber is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to own the AI system layer across the product, leading a multi-team org of 30 engineers in a remote, full-time role. You’ll drive agent orchestration, evaluation, safety and cross-product AI workflows to improve customer outcomes.

You will partner with Product and Design, push for system-thinking over feature-thinking, and shape how intelligent capabilities scale across the platform, including Copilot-like interfaces and automation layers.

Qualifications

• Leads real AI systems that make decisions and take actions in production.
• Thinks in end-to-end user workflows and system integrity.
• Partner with product and design to deliver customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own AI system layer across Jobber’s product.
• Lead cross-functional teams (4–6 EMs) and 30 engineers.
• Define context flow, orchestration, and safety guardrails across workflows.
