Sunday is seeking a Director of Engineering in Boulder, CO or Remote. This hands-on leadership role combines technical excellence with strategic influence, bridging product and executive leadership to shape an AI-native roadmap.

Qualifications

Experienced engineering leader with track record at growth-stage companies.
Hands-on coder who ships product, not only manages people.
Strong credibility with senior engineers and product teams.
Experience building AI-native product development teams and roadmaps.
Familiarity with AI evaluation tooling (Braintrust, Langfuse or similar).
Ability to define hiring strategy and grow orgs.

Responsibilities

Develop a technical vision and 6–12 month roadmap with Product and Leadership Team.
Own Sundays AI strategy for engineering and promote AI-assisted development.
Partner closely with Product and Leadership to align business goals with engineering work.
Own engineering metrics: delivery against roadmap, quality, uptime, team velocity.
Codify engineering best practices, testing, code review, and scalable processes.
