Job summary

Ryan Consulting Group, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to lead the design, development, and deployment of our AI/ML systems. This role will build and grow a high-performing team of AI/ML engineers, set technical direction for AI initiatives, and partner with Product, Data Science, and executive leadership to turn AI capabilities into real business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of software/ML experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience shipping ML/AI systems to production at scale.
• Proficiency with modern ML frameworks and MLOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of AI/ML engineers and scientists.
• Define the technical roadmap for AI/ML systems.
• Oversee model training, productionization, deployment, and monitoring.
• Establish MLOps practices including CI/CD and observability.
• Partner with Product/Data Science to identify high-value AI use cases.
• Ensure data pipelines and feature availability with Data Engineering.
• Own performance, cost, latency, and reliability targets.
• Evaluate third-party AI tools and platforms as needed.
• Ensure governance, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate strategy and risks to executives.
