Job summary

ClickUp is seeking a Director of Cloud Platform to lead multi-region infrastructure strategy and scale. You will own the AWS spend, drive efficiency by migrating workloads to EKS and self-hosting services like OpenSearch, and align Product, AI, Security, and Enterprise teams to a cohesive roadmap.

You will manage a senior, distributed team across the US, Canada, and Europe, focusing on reliability, security, and scalable IaC practices to accelerate deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep AWS infrastructure mastery: EKS, networking, Terraform at scale.
• Strategic cloud roadmap ownership across enterprise AI and cost.
• Cross-team influence across Product, Security, SRE, and DB orgs.
• Application-level curiosity: understand product functions beyond infra.
• People leadership at scale: grow senior-heavy, distributed teams.
• Operational rigor: strong on-call, incident ownership, RCA.
• Security-first instincts: auth enforcement, network isolation, shard boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost efficiency by migrating data workloads to EKS and self-hosting OpenSearch.
• Deprecate legacy ALBs and consolidate to a single ALB per shard for faster deployments.
• Build coverage by cross-training and targeted hiring in Networking, OpenSearch, and Terraform.
• Establish recurring alignment cadence with Product, AI, Enterprise, and Security teams.
• Ship automated shard buildout via Backstage to reduce toil in scaling.
• Cut incidents through hardened ingress patterns and Terraform guardrails.
• Deliver a roadmap for Agent enablement, centralized IaC, and deployment rollout, tied to AI revenue goals.
• Grow a senior-heavy, geographically distributed team across US, Canada, and Europe.
• Own multi-million-dollar AWS spend accountability and contractor oversight.
