Job summary

The Triumph Group (Lubbock Country Club) in Lubbock, TX seeks a Director of Agronomy to lead agronomic programs and drive top-tier course conditions. You will oversee the grounds maintenance team, irrigation, and safety while aligning with the club’s long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities include developing staff, managing budgets, coordinating with club leadership, and staying current on turf management innovations. A strong credential in agronomy and pesticide licensing is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, Plant Sciences or related field.
• Pesticide license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Strong knowledge of turf grass management and golf course maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership through hiring, training, coaching and development of staff.
• Set goals, measure performance, and ensure objectives are met or exceeded.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive agronomic plan to elevate course conditions.
• Oversee irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and safety programs.
• Coordinate budgeting, scheduling and record-keeping for the maintenance department.
• Communicate with clubs leadership and committees on maintenance plans and projects.
• Prepare annual budgets and manage expenses within club policies.
