Job summary

Lubbock Country Club seeks a Director of Agronomy to lead its maintenance and agronomy operations. The role includes developing sound agronomic programs, overseeing course maintenance, and leading staff through coaching, training and performance management.

The position requires directing irrigation, fertilization, and cultural practices while managing budgets and coordinating with the Board on long-term plans and projects.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management.
• Experience maintaining greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Familiarity with fertilizers, soil conditioners, pest control, and irrigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership, hiring, coaching and development of staff.
• Develop and implement agronomic programs and annual plans.
• Oversee irrigation, drainage, fertilization, pest control, and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare and manage the agronomy department budget.
• Communicate with Board and leadership on maintenance projects and outcomes.
