Job summary

Saint Mary’s College seeks an experienced Director of Advancement Operations to lead systems, data, processes, and the operational backbone for fundraising. You will partner with Advancement leadership to turn data into insights for donor engagement and fundraising success.

The role focuses on data integrity, reporting, analytics, process optimization, and collaboration across departments, including Advancement Services and Prospect Research.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in advancement operations, fundraising systems, or related management.
• Experience leading teams responsible for data, reporting, CRM, or prospect research.
• Experience with process mapping, workflow optimization, and redesign.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, reporting, analytics and financial reconciliation.
• Experience implementing or optimizing CRM/database systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, workflows, and reporting that support fundraising effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain an Advancement Dashboard and other reporting tools for data-driven decision making.
• Provide centralized data, analytics, reporting, and prospect research support for leadership and staff.
• Oversee Advancement Services and Prospect Research with strategic direction and operational leadership.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, security and appropriate use of Advancement data and databases.
• Lead data migrations, system optimization, and collaboration with external vendors as needed.
• Ensure systems support donor stewardship activities, including gift acknowledgments, reporting, and compliance.
• Collaborate with Finance on gift processing, fund reconciliation, endowment reporting, and donor-restricted funds.
• Mentor staff and provide professional development opportunities.
