Job summary

Bowie State University is seeking a Director of Advancement Services to lead data strategy, reporting, and donor stewardship across campus. You will oversee data integration, analytics, and prospect research, coordinating with university offices to support fundraising goals.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise with fundraising information systems, including Salesforce and Ellucian Advance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years in advancement services or development.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with Salesforce for databases and reporting.
• Experience with Ellucian Advance and Annual Giving.
• Ability to safeguard confidentiality and work with donors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual plans to improve database systems and data integration.
• Generate and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual donor reports.
• Translate data into actionable information to support fundraising strategies.
• Lead prospect research and pipeline discussions for annual, major, and planned giving.
• Coordinate training for Advancement staff on systems and processes.
• Maintain knowledge resources and ensure data integrity across offices.
• Manage access to alumni/donor data and protect confidentiality.
• Support governance of system prioritization and software projects.
