Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks an Executive Director for Prospect Development and Advancement Intelligence to lead a cross‑functional team transforming data into fundraising insights. The position drives prospect research, portfolio strategy, and analytics to strengthen donor engagement and the philanthropic pipeline.

The role partners with senior fundraising leadership to set goals, optimize portfolios, and advance data-informed decisions across University Advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in prospect research, prospect development, advancement analytics, fundraising strategy, advancement operations, or a related field, including supervisory and management experience.
• Expertise in prospect research, prospect management, portfolio strategy, fundraising analytics.
• Experience partnering with fundraising leadership and frontline fundraisers to drive prospect strategy, portfolio optimization, and fundraising performance.
• Experience utilizing predictive analytics, business intelligence tools, CRM data, and fundraising performance metrics to drive strategic decision‑making.
• Experience developing and implementing dashboard reporting and executive‑level fundraising performance analysis.
• Experience with Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, CRM analytics platforms, or comparable business intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of AI-enabled research, analytics, and prospect identification tools.
• Proven ability to analyze and synthesize complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies and recommendations for organizational leaders.
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and data governance best practices.

Responsibilities
