Job summary

Corning is seeking a Director of Advanced Optical Components to lead innovation and product development for hyperscale data center and optical computing networks. You will partner with Business Technology Directors, Commercial, Market Development, and Product Line Management to shape long- and short-term roadmaps and set the direction for technical capability enhancements to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master's degree in physics, electrical engineering, or related STEM.
• Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in a multinational setting.
• Minimum of 10 years of functional leadership and 5 years of project/technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee innovation and product development of advanced passive optical components for hyperscale data center and optical computing networks.
• Partner with directors and management to develop roadmaps for new product introduction.
• Set direction for technical capability enhancements to meet business needs.
• Provide technical leadership for Global Business Teams and portfolio prioritization.
• Manage directorate budget and lead a global organization of ~100 employees across regions.
• Deliver differentiated solutions addressing customer needs with cost and sustainability advantages.
• Support early-stage development in AR&D with optical design and manufacturability expertise.
• Drive new product introductions from project launch to manufacturing release.
• Responsible for delivering on-budget and on-time with financial objectives.
