This is an exciting full-time, direct-hire opportunity for an experienced admissions leader to oversee a high-performing intake team and drive admissions strategy, operational excellence, and an exceptional client experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Admissions will lead the organization's Admissions Department and oversee the full client intake and admissions lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this individual will manage and develop the admissions team, optimize inbound and outbound call processes, strengthen conversion performance, and ensure admissions practices meet organizational and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and develop the admissions team, including intake specialists and coordinators.
- Develop and execute admissions strategies that support census and organizational growth goals.
- Oversee the complete admissions process from initial inquiry through successful admission.
- Optimize inbound/outbound call workflows, follow-up processes, benefit verification, and CRM utilization.
- Monitor conversion rates, referral sources, admissions trends, and other departmental KPIs.
- Ensure appropriate after-hours coverage and responsiveness to urgent admissions inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, and documentation requirements.
- Oversee accurate completion of financial documentation, benefit verifications, payment agreements, and related admissions paperwork.
- Partner closely with clinical, operational, marketing, and executive leadership.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-performing admissions professionals.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, client experience, and departmental performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in healthcare administration, psychology, social work, or a related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of admissions or intake experience within behavioral health, substance use/addiction treatment, or healthcare.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of substance use treatment modalities and levels of care.
- Experience managing admissions teams, call-center operations, or high-volume intake functions strongly preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Demonstrated ability to track and improve admissions KPIs, including conversion and census.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and process-improvement skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support admissions operations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive salary range $100,000-$135,000 commensurate with experience plus benefits!
