Pay : $95,000–$130,000 DOE (negotiable for exceptional candidates)

About Our Client :

Addison Group is working with our client in the architecture industry to find an experienced and strategic Director of Administration. This role is opening due to an upcoming retirement and presents an opportunity to step into a key leadership position with influence across HR, finance, and operations.

Job Description :

The Director of Administration oversees administrative functions including HR, finance, and vendor relations. Reporting to the President and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, this individual ensures the firm’s internal operations run smoothly while fostering a productive and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead administrative, financial, and HR operations across the organization
  • Supervise and develop a small team (3 direct reports)
  • Oversee employee relations, performance evaluations, and professional development
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulatory requirements
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service agreements
  • Participate in budgeting discussions and financial oversight (not primary owner of budget)
  • Collaborate on organizational change initiatives and business process improvements
  • Facilitate internal audits and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate and enhance benefits programs and compensation structures
  • Support 401(k) plan administration and planning meetings

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a professional setting (architecture industry preferred)
  • Strong background in both HR and financial operations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related administrative tools
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Full-time, direct hire
  • Schedule : 4x9-hour days + half-day Fridays
  • Must be on-site by 8 : 00 AM for 8 : 30 AM meetings
  • One remote day may be offered (Tues–Thurs only, consistent weekly schedule required)
  • Interview process : 2 rounds (1 in-person, 1 virtual), approx. 1.5 hours each

40 hours after 90 days

  • Additional 40 hours after 6 months
