Job summary

Overwatch Mission Critical is seeking a Director of Accounting & Tax to lead the full accounting and tax function across multi-entity operations. This hands-on role focuses on close, GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and tax coordination with external advisors.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, a builder mindset, and the leadership to scale processes and teams in a fast-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or Master's in Accounting preferred; equivalent combination will be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership.
• Experience leading and developing an accounting team.
• Hands-on experience with day-to-day accounting operations and close.
• Proven track record leading external audits with regional or national firms.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP; ability to adapt to updates.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close process across multiple entities (journal entries, reconciliations).
• Manage A/P, A/R, billing, inventory, and payroll accounting.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and documented policies.
• Oversee cash flow visibility, banking relationships, and treasury ops.
• Produce timely financial statements and reporting for leadership.
• Ensure ASC 606, ASC 842 compliance for complex models.
• Lead external audit engagements and manage PBC requests.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with leadership.
• Coordinate with external tax partners for sales, income, franchise, and property taxes.
• Lead NetSuite optimization and automation efforts.
