Job summary

ECL Group of Companies in Houston seeks an accomplished accounting leader to strengthen the financial foundations, build scalable processes, and develop a high-performing team supporting oil and gas trading activities.

As Director of Accounting, you will partner with the VP and senior leadership to drive GAAP reporting, hedge accounting (ASC 815), internal controls, and strategic financial planning for a fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Eight to ten years of progressive accounting experience.
• Three to five years in an accounting leadership role.
• Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
• Master’s degree preferred; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements and close processes.
• Lead general ledger, payables, receivables, overheads, inventory, hedge accounting and reconciliations.
• Partner with VP and senior leadership; support budgeting and strategic planning.
• Drive process improvements and internal controls; oversee system implementations like RightAngle.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
