Job summary

ENGIE Energy Management NA, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Senior Advisor in Houston to lead the period-end close, oversee energy trading revenue accounting, and strengthen internal controls across the finance function.

You will partner with Global Business Support and ENGIE teams to assure accurate reporting and timely responses to audits and regulatory inquiries. The role requires a minimum of 10 years in accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and experience driving finance transformation and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience.
• US GAAP knowledge and revenue accounting experience.
• Ability to lead complex close processes and drive improvements.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for energy trading, ensuring proper calendars and GBS standards.
• Manage revenue accounting activities including reconciliations, journal entries, gross margin reporting, and data reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy of energy gross margin and related balance sheet accounts (accruals, revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany).
• Review and analyze financial statements with FP&A to explain variances and risks.
• Collaborate with Market Risk, Operations, Front Office, FP&A and GBS to resolve discrepancies and deliver timely results.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, ENGIE policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Design and maintain internal controls, documentation, reconciliations, testing, remediation, and audit readiness.
• Serve as finance liaison for internal/external audits and regulatory requests.
