Job summary

This hands-on leadership role heads AR and AP teams and partners with Accounting Operations on transactional support and system changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years accounting experience including 3–5 years public accounting and/or 2–4 years in a Controller/Assistant Controller role.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience in leading or supervising a team.
• Payroll, payroll-related reconciliations, banking/treasury and inventory accounting experience.
• Experience with accounting software or system conversions.
• Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations.
• Prior experience in equipment dealership, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or other inventory-heavy industries preferred.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, across levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
• Deliver financial reporting packages and analyses for the CFO and executives.
• Coordinate with the independent CPA during annual audits and prepare schedules.
• Ensure reconciliations are completed timely across the general ledger.
• Directly manage AR and AP teams, set priorities and develop staff.
• Partner with Accounting Operations to ensure smooth handoffs between transactional processing and reporting.
• Calculate and process commissions accurately and on schedule.
• Support payroll accounting and payroll-related reconciliations.
• Support cash management, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
